BIBLE-ISH | Week 2
Popular Quote: “God won’t give you more than you can bear.”
Sounds comforting… but it’s not what the Bible actually says.
In fact, Paul writes about a season so heavy that he couldn’t carry it at all. A “thorn in the flesh” — something that humbled him and reminded him of his weakness. And God’s answer wasn’t, “You’ve got this!” It was, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Cor. 12:9)
God sometimes allows more than we can bear on our own — so that we’ll stop relying on ourselves and start depending fully on Him.
Message Title: “God’s Dark Room”
Like photos developed in a dark room, God uses the hidden, hard, and heavy seasons to shape us, mature us, and reveal His glory in us. The world says hard seasons mean God’s not there. The Bible says that’s often where He’s most at work.
