Everything in my working life has been 'on the fly' – I've been winging it for the last 30-odd years... but creatively..! This podcast focusses on people who make things… which is pretty broad I know… but, in particular, I’ve been fortunate to speak to people who make things that inspire me and fire me up to be creative… ...whose process I’m curious about, who stand out from the crowd and who, I know, can teach me a lot. Hopefully there's something in it for you too ;)

[Ep 4] SJ van Breda (mobile filmmaker)

Hey this is On The Fly with Jon Gill

Where I speak to Inspiring, creative, inventive people pushing the boundaries of creativity and technology.

This is episode 4 with South African filmmaker SJ van Breda

Film school trained in Vancouver, Sarah has produced amazing work using traditional camera but also works on many personal projects using mobile. In this episode we talk about her creative process, love of match-cuts and bringing a spontaneous 'mobile–sensibility' to her process.

Jane Digby

I became aware of Sarah's work through #FiLMiCFest 2019 – her entry was Jane Digby and I recommend you give it a watch before listening to the podcast: https://vimeo.com/351055213

Thanks so much for downloading and listening – please share, subscribe, comment, review, etc – all most welcome and greatly appreciated.

I use phones and tablets to capture, edit and share my short films and I can help you to do the same…

I run learning sessions for all ages – anyone wanting to use video to tell their own story.

Like most educators just now I’m  trying to inspire people via Zoom from my spare room. But I love it.

So if you’d like to learn more about telling your story using a mobile then please get in touch.

And remember, that this 'pod' was #MadeOnAMobile
