THE PANEL SERIES: Dialogue Dancers and The Art of Writing for the Stage
Welcome to 'On Stage Savannah', THE PODCAST!  TAP HERE to make a donation to SAVANNAH PERFORMANCE ALLIANCE: Your donation will help with the growth and advertising of the performing arts in Savannah and will help support this podcast!  Savannah Performance Alliance strongly believes that the Savannah performing arts community is just that: a community.  A diverse collection of creative producers, directors, actors, singers, dancers, designers, technical crew, and more that are strong on their own but strongest when they come together to unite behind a common goal of bringing the arts to Savannah and the entire coastal region.  THIS EPISODE: Part of our PANEL SERIES, this episode highlighting The Art of Writing for the Stage was recorded LIVE at the inaugural Savannah Performing Arts Festival that took place February 10th through February 22nd, 2025, at Savannah Cultural Arts Center’s Ben Tucker Theater and other locations in the Hostess City. More than 30 events were held, more than 1,000 tickets were issued to both locals and visitors alike, and thousands of dollars were raised to support the performing arts in Savannah.  All of the proceeds benefitted the Savannah Performance Alliance, a non-profit collective of local arts organizations whose mission is to drive awareness, attendance, and acceptance of the performing arts in the Hostess City. --- Moderated by Megan Mason and Dee Daniels of Dee Daniels Media, this panel discussion features experienced writers: Jarred Corona, Rick Garman, Thomas Houston, Travis Spangenburg, and Madison Erwin.  They share their personal writing processes and techniques for creating compelling scripts. They delve into topics such as outlining versus improvisation, the balance between dialogue and action, character development, and overcoming writer's block. The writers also discuss the importance of reading other scripts, engaging with different forms of art, and staying disciplined in their craft.  Huge THANKS to our show sponsor: Seabring Properties LLC - a Real Estate investment company that creates innovative solutions for homeowners in Savannah and surrounding areas.  LINKS from the show: MAKE YOUR DONATION to the Savannah Performance Alliance Check out UPCOMING SHOWS in the Savannah area Become a FAN or a MEMBER ONSTAGE Savannah TAP HERE to get in touch with our SPONSOR, Seabring Properties LLC - 912-509-0892 Proudly Produced by: Dee Daniels Media - CONTACT them to learn more about Full-Service Podcast Production, Podcast Promotion & Sponsorship, and Podcast Equipment Advice
