The award-winning Parv Kaur started her own dhol drumming classes after leaving school. Students from all over the Midlands joined her Eternal Taal team that now perform on the biggest stages in the world. In this episode Satnam Rana asks how Parv has succeeded in the male-dominated world of bhangra.
Parv has been hooked on bhangra since childhood and by the age of 14 she had mastered keyboard, dhol and dholki drums encouraged by her musical father, Balbir Singh, of legendary bhangra band Bhujangy Group. Eternal Taal has not only set standards in the UK Bhangra industry but has also broken through to the non-Asian mainstream, performing to wider audiences and educating people about Bhangra music.
