In this episode Satnam Rana talks to singer, model, and dancer Bambi Bains about learning Bhangra dancing, winning talent shows, and mastering multiple musical instruments while still at school in Birmingham. Satnam and Bambi discuss growing up in Birmingham with a strong stance on female empowerment believing cultural boundaries can be broken through through music.
Discovered at 16 while dancing in a video, Bambi released her debut single Chakkar in 2017, and tasted global success with follow up tracks Retro Rarri and Duniya. In 2021, she released the bilingual single Khavaal, which combines her Punjabi heritage with a strong R&B vibe. In January this year, she signed to Sony Music Publishing and embarked on her first UK tour in February.
