Jenk Oz: Finding Purpose In Entrepreneurship and Activism

Jenk Oz is the Founder & CEO of Thred Media, a social enterprise focused on publishing content aimed at Gen-Z. His entrepreneurship journey started at the age of 11 when he created icoolkid, which led him to become Britain's youngest CEO. After a few years, he renamed the company to Thred Media which has reached more than 100 countries worldwide. For his work with Thred, he was awarded the Princess Diana Award in 2021. In addition to entrepreneurship, Jenk is also interested in music as he played many instruments as a child and is now DJing. He also grew up in acting but does not do it as much now.

As an only child, Jenk grew up doing many extracurricular activities such as acting and dancing in addition to becoming an entrepreneur. These experiences allowed him to not be afraid of public speaking or the fear of rejection. When Jenk was 11, he created a website that would tell people cool things to do in London. It took time before the website started getting traction. The support the website received could not have happened without the help of friends and family. What started as just a fun way to educate people was soon shared by people in the community As Jenk started getting older, the content needed to become more mature and serious about different issues. Instead of coming up with a new company, he renamed it Thred Media with the mission of creating content about social change. Thred covers a lot of topics such as climate change, social justice, and education, just to name a few.
