Chase Hartman: Love For Community & Understanding People’s Stories

Chase Hartman is the Co-Founder of Eco Brothers, an organization that aims to improve literacy rates and donate books around the country. Chase’s nonprofit has gone on to distribute more than 200,000 books all around the country with the hope that kids can have access to books. This is a nonprofit that he started with his brother as a way to share their passions and previous experiences with volunteering. Many teachers and parents of children have praised his nonprofit for making an impact on their children. Recently, Chase recently graduated from high school and is now looking forward to the next chapter in his life: college.

Chase has always been involved in volunteering and leadership roles. Whether it was being a Boy Scout, being a part of student government in high school, or being captain of the swim team, Chase wanted to take these roles and be of service to those around him. This would then lead to creating Eco-Brothers with his younger brother. By combining their love for reading and recognizing the issue that books are not easily accessible to other kids, Chase realized he needed to take action. While he is happy to distribute more than 200,000 books, Chase focuses more on the personal connections he has made through the years. This helps him better understand how to truly make an impact on someone. He does not just make an impact volunteering, but also on the academic level as well where he is a member of the National Honors Society when he was in high school and a 2024 Coca-Cola Scholar. Now that he has graduated from high school, Chase will be attending the University of Florida where he will be majoring in business, and hopes he will become an even better person by the time he graduates.

In this episode, you will hear:

  • Books that mean a lot to Chase
  • A time Chase helped someone and it made him felt good
  • What would Chase lose if he did not have volunteering
  • What did Chase lose if he did not have volunteering
  • Fears Chase has had and currently has that he hopes to overcome in the future
  • What is the most difficult thing about being Chase Hartman
