Off Grid Pros is here to provide valuable information and great off grid content for anyone curious about a life beyond the norm. We will cover anything from solar, tiny house living, RV lifestyles, to great camping sites! How did we get here? It's simple. We have been working in the solar industry, both grid tied and off grid, for many years. In fact, Ryan H. is the owner of our installation and service company! He is a NABCEP certified installer and started his solar business back in 2008 here in northern Arizona. It is our mission to show you the benefits/opportunities of off grid living!

Episode 1 - Off the Grid Battery Basics

Welcome to our first episode of the Off Grid Pros podcast! We are so excited you are here and want to welcome you to the community. First off, a little bit about us. We are three guys out of northern Arizona that recognize the off grid world can be extremely confusing and difficult to navigate. We want to create a place where the every day person can collect knowledge on off the grid information as well as offer the products that are necessary to live or simply adventure off the grid. To do so, we have created this podcast, we are in the midst of creating a YouTube channel as well and most importantly, we have a website where you can find all of the off grid products we discuss in our podcast! That website is called shopoffgrid.com and will constantly be updated as we begin to work with more and more companies.

Who are we? Our names are Jonathan, Ryan and... Ryan. Yes there are two Ryans in a three person company! In this podcast, we have decided to call one of our Ryans by their last name of Kanaley. We met at our day job as Ryan is the owner of the solar installation, design and service company called Prometheus Solar in Flagstaff, AZ. Ryan is an Air Force veteran, has a mechanical engineering degree from West Point and is a NABCEP certified installer! For Off Grid Pros, Ryan serves as the CEO and is more commonly known as the smartest of the three. Jonathan is the Director of Marketing at Prometheus Solar and received a degree in marketing from Northern Arizona University. He has been with Prometheus for about three years doing both marketing for Prometheus as well as business development for our DBA Plug & Play Solar Kits where we sell many variations of solar all over the United States. Within Off Grid Pros, he works as the COO as well as your podcast host! Lastly, Kanaley is an Army veteran with a degree in Criminal Justice and soon to be a graduate of the University of Arizona with a Masters of Business Administration. At Prometheus, Kanaley is a Project Manager on the grid-tied side but comes from a background of batteries as he transferred over to us from Battery Systems. For Off Grid Pros, he works as the CFO.

In this episode, we give the basics of batteries as it pertains to the off grid world covering anything from maintaining your batteries to understanding how to wire them together. Here are the talking points:
