On August 28th, 2013, Karen Laspisa received a phone call that no mother ever wants. Her son Bryce's roommate is calling to express his worry for Bryce's recent behavior. This shift in Bryce's personality is only solidified further when Karen speaks to Bryce's girlfriend as well. All Karen hopes for is that her son will make the 7 hour drive home safely and that whatever is happening can be resolved. Little does she know that sending him off to his sophomore year of college would be the last time she would ever see him.
