In September 2013, two friends, Dr. Jo Elliott-Blakeslee and Amy Linkert, set out for a short hike in Idaho’s Craters of the Moon National Monument and never returned. Their truck was found locked at the trailhead, their dogs alive inside, and their phones left behind.
