Mentorship and the Art of Building Strategic Networks
“As a creative, you may be brilliant at music, art, or design, but don’t let yourself be taken advantage of by others who exploit that talent. Have great people in your circle of friends and among your partners who are aligned with your success.” — Kneeland Youngblood
Kneeland Youngblood is the founding partner, chairman, and CEO of Pharos Capital Group.
Under his leadership, the firm manages over $1.2 billion in assets with a focus on value-based healthcare, addressing social health issues, and promoting diversity.
Appointed by President Bill Clinton, he served on the United States Enrichment Corporation board, and later, President Joe Biden appointed him to the President's Intelligence Advisory Board.
Kneeland also serves on the board of several prominent organizations, including the California Institute of Technology, the Milken Institute, the Black Economic Alliance, and currently holds the position of lead director for Light & Wonder, Inc.
His previous board memberships include Starwood Hotels, Burger King, Gap Inc., and the American Beacon Funds.
In this episode, Kneeland highlights the importance of mentorship, ownership and building strategic networks for achieving impactful leadership.
