Stop 9 on the NUI Galway Biodiversity Trail investigates the alluvial woodland found on both sides of the river path. This area is home to many species of trees, and Dr Gesche Kindermann (Applied Ecology Unit) discusses the European significance of this habitat. Professor Mike Gormally (Applied Ecology Unit) introduces some of the insects found in the area.
