Now, Where Were We? with Barry Cryer and Bob Cryer

Now, Where Were We? is the show that Barry Cryer has been waiting 86 years to make!

Alongside his son, actor and writer Bob Cryer, Barry's booked a room at a favourite London pub, called up a bunch of famous pals he's not seen since lockdown began, and he's invited them down for a pint and a proper catch-up. This is Barry at his storytelling best, in his natural habitat, doing what he’s done for decades: making us laugh.

There is some very explicit language used in punchlines from time to time, but Barry's nearly 90, so it's sort of delightful, isn't it?

Barry Cryer: A Celebration

In a special celebratory episode, Bob Cryer talks to Barry Humphries, Sandi Toksvig and Rebecca Front about their memories of Barry.

Barry, Sandi and Rebecca will all be involved in the upcoming Barry Cryer: A Celebration, which is taking place at the Lyric Theatre in London on the 13th June 2022. We’ll be celebrating Barry's remarkable life, along with some of his favourite entertainers, including Bill Bailey, Stewart Lee, Harry Hill, Maureen Lipman, Michael Palin and some of the guests that you’ll have heard on the podcast, like Gyles Brandreth and Stephen Fry.

Baz spent his life making people laugh and left behind him a legacy of fun, joy, love, and silliness that this show will celebrate!

Raising money for one of Barry's favourite charities, the Royal Variety Charity, tickets are available from www.nimaxtheatres.com.

We hope to see you there!

Thanks to all of our guests over the series, all of whom pop up briefly in this episode: Stephen Fry. Danny Baker, Miriam Margolyes, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Gyles Brandreth, Danny Baker and Joe Brown.

With many thanks to the Kites (Mark Allen, Jack Cryer and Matt Hodgson) for the tremendous theme music.

You can hear more from the Kites here!
