One Sunday Morning, November 10th, Ariel Gazarien, callsign “Pacific Selkie,” paddled her Rockpool Taran sea kayak across Dublin Bay to complete a circumnavigation of Ireland, becoming one of around 100 people to do so and around 30 to do it solo. She completed her trip during a terrible summer with tight weather windows that sent every other trip home.
Ariel is an outdoor educator and guide who leads dog sledding expeditions and teaches winter survival. She’s also a lindy-hop and American tap dance instructor.
