Episode 28 - Arsenal Choose Gyökeres, Tomiyasu Departs + Is Nwaneri Staying?
In this episode, Jon (@305Cast on Twitter/@yellowribbons.bsky.social on Bluesky), and Sham (@Shamsdale/@shamsdale.bsky.social) get together to go over the latest Arsenal news. After addressing a few heavy topics at the top of the pod, the guys discuss Arsenal's decision to advance in negotiations for Viktor Gyökeres. They make the case for and against the signing of the Swedish striker, focusing on what his mentality can bring to the side. They also praise Andrea Berta for pivoting from negotiations with RB Leipzig, who reportedly would not budge from their asking price of
€90 million. Jon and Sham then chat about Takehiro Tomiyasu's contract termination and offer some parting thoughts on the Japanese defender before turning to ongoing contract talks with Ethan Nwaneri and giving their opinions on concerns the young Englishman might have about staying and whether they think Arsenal will get that new deal over the line. The two finish by discussing a report that Crystal Palace are interested in a young Arsenal defender as part of a deal involving Eberechi Eze, and Sham asks Jon which young Arsenal defenders he would be willing to part with to secure Eze.
