Welcome to Not That Famous. I’m Aly—and this show was born out of my love for talking to people. Not small talk. I mean really talking. A while back, I realized I didn’t actually know some of the people closest to me. So I started interviewing them. Friends. Family. People I thought I knew. And what came out? Stories that blew me away. Like someone who’s been promoted 10 times and quietly tripled their salary. Someone who built a following of half a million on TikTok—and isn’t even trying to monetize it. Or people who grew up with nothing, surrounded by trauma, and still became the most emotionally intelligent humans I’ve ever met. I realized... this is the kind of stuff we never hear about. So I made a podcast. Not That Famous isn’t about the rich, the shiny, or the super polished. It’s about the stories we miss—because they don’t come with a PR team. Sometimes I’ll unpack the weird parts of a documentary that kept me up at night. Other times, it’s just me and someone extraordinary you’ve never heard of… yet. It’s unfiltered. It’s real. And it might make you laugh, cry, or text someone a little differently. I’m not that famous. My guests aren’t either. But the stories? Those are something else. Let’s get into it.

#5: Making It in Nashville: Maura Streppa on Country Music, Grit & Going All In
What does it really take to make it as a country music artist in Nashville in 2025? In this episode, I sit down with singer-songwriter Maura Streppa, whose journey from small-town beginnings to the stages of Music City is anything but ordinary. She’s self-taught. She’s relentless. And she’s not holding back. We talk about the reality of building a career in music today — the open mics, the letdowns, the side jobs, the algorithms, the endless self-promotion. Maura opens up about what it’s like to write your trauma, sing to empty rooms, and still find the fire to keep showing up. This is not just about talent. It’s about stamina, strategy, and the guts to keep going when nobody’s watching. Whether you're an aspiring artist, a music lover, or just curious about how the industry really works, this episode will pull back the curtain on the hustle behind the highlight reel. 🔗 Follow Maura StreppaInstagram: @maurastreppamusicFacebook: Maura Streppa MusicWebsite: maurastreppa.comSpotify: Listen Here   Tags: Nashville music, country music, music industry, singer songwriter, Maura Streppa, Music City, how to become a music artist, country music podcast, Nashville artist interview, up-and-coming artists

#4: From Tehran to London: How One Woman Escaped Life In Iran
What does it mean to grow up female in Iran, where religion, war, and strict gender roles dictate every part of life? My guest shares her story of getting out, navigating a male-dominated culture, pushing back against unfair marriage laws, and ultimately rewriting her own marriage contract to protect her freedom. When she was 24, she managed to get out of Iran and move abroad. She quickly found her voice by launching a bilingual radio show in Poland, broadcasting in both Farsi and English which had never been done. From there, she grew her following to thousands, developed a marketing career and got married (in Iran!). This episode is all about the courage it takes to turn silence and toxic gender norms into power. It's a reminder to live the life you truly know you deserve, despite all obstacles in your way.

#3: This Max Doc Will Haunt You (and That’s Exactly Why You Should Watch It)
What happens when the guy running your local funeral home has zero remorse and no one stops him? In this episode, we dive into The Mortician, the chilling new HBO Max documentary that’s part true crime, FULL real-life horror. I unpack what made this story so disturbing, how it exposes corruption in the funeral industry, and what no one wants to talk about when it comes to grief and greed. If you’re into true crime docs, or just want to feel morally outraged on your commute, this one’s for you.   Tags: The Mortician HBO documentary; funeral industry corruption; true crime documentary podcast; creepy mortician story; Max documentary recap; funeral homes expose; sociopath mortician; real life horror stories; shocking true story podcast

He started in social work, hearing stories most of us would run from...then bounced at bars, threw fists in MMA gyms, and somehow turned all that grit into a six-figure career in software sales. Many promotions in a handful of years. Covered in tattoos. Always up for an Uber Eats splurge. And more emotional intelligence than half the corporate ladder combined.
