Vanessa drops some knowledge on us.
Why you should do a social media detox week?
So recently, I felt like I was losing myself. Meaning, I was constantly overthinking, doubting my own decisions, my capabilities and constantly seeking validation from everything else but myself. Now at the time, in the middle of all of it, I was lost. I didn’t know what to do with it, why I was feeling this way, even though I was journaling and writing my thoughts it just all felt like words on a paper and it didn’t really solve the issue. Then I started going back into my old toxic habits of smoking, watching porn, not going to the gym, not watching my diet, not monitoring my thoughts, I sort of went astray and it was bad. It happened so fast, in a matter of days, I have undone what I took at least 5months of re-enforcing. It was frustrating to see myself get to that point so quickly after trying so hard to do better.
I had to get myself out of it. I was journaling one day and I realized, I was writing a lot of negative stuff about myself, and I had also done a podcast video that had been taken out of context and I had received a lot of hate from that one video.
I guess, it was all connected, you give bad energy to the universe, that’s what you receive back. People are just waiting to cut you down, waiting for their opportunity to tell you that you are NOTHING! To belittle you. That threw me completely off. I was struggling again to manage my thoughts, contemplating to give up making content altogether but I thought to myself, maybe I just need a break.
So that’s what I did, took some time off social media, consuming, watching, I thought, I should make a YouTube video about it, NO! that’s ridiculous just stay off social media and see what happens. I’m glad to say, after 1 week of being off social media, I have had a fresher perspective. I began to fill my time with journaling and writing more, planning how to scale my business, to grow my brand and content. It has really helped me to get a grip of my derailing. I can’t say I’m completely back on track, but I’m happy to say it’s a start, I’m steering back and I have better, clearer goals and plans then before.
So if you ever find yourself, stuck in a situation where you are constanly overthinking, doubting your every decision and stressing about the smallest thing. Put your phone away, spend less time on it and more time in life. Look around you, enjoy it. You can never know that you are in the good old days when you look back. Life is all about perspective, and reality is not what it may seem in your head. Be present. Live. Love. Learn.
Don’t spend your time, worrying about things that may or may not happen. Focus on what is. That’s it for today guys, if you enjoyed this or learned something from it, Please leave a comment or share it on your Instagram and tag me on it. I appreciate you all so much. Until next time, BE 1% BETTER EVERYDAY!
There is a trend for photography business in PNG and alot of us are self taught. That is absurdly impressive! But I had no one to mentor me and I had to learn the hard way through alot of mistakes, hopefully these tips will help you get somewhere.
In life, you have to take risks to enjoy life. Alot of people are comfortable being comfortable, but if you are always changing things and growing, challenging yourself to achieve more, you will end up being more fulfilled in life. It's more like finding your purpose. It's different for everyone, you never know until you try.
Here are 4 tips to help you get started on your mental health journey.
1. Start Journaling
2. Cut out Toxic things
3. Learn to say No
4. Positive Affirmations
I resigned from my job to pursue content creating full time. I know alot of people advice against it but I'm giving it a shot.
Daily Affirmations are critical especially if you are starting your mental clarity journey or from a negative mindset.
Practice it everyday.
