The No Man's Land team is deep in production on Season 2, but we wanted to release a Halloween special just to catch you up on what's been going on since Season 1 dropped a year ago. Along with answering listener questions and updating the status of William Haliday, aka "Willie Claws," we also go in search of one of the lore's most hallowed artifacts. Some believe the little pyramid of rocks knocked over by Seth Carter back in 1949, right before he was strangled by his brother Caleb, is the key to unlocking the mystery of No Man's Land. But things get dicey when the team discovers someone waiting for them out in the woods -- someone who clearly doesn't want "Caleb's Tower" to be found.

In the finale of Season One, John Hulme and Sofia Solimando are invited to sit in on a remote therapy session with Willie Claws, the homeless drifter who haunted No Man's Land for almost thirty years. The goal is help "William" rediscover his true identity, which may be that of convicted murderer Will Haliday, who escaped from the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, NY many years ago. But the deeper John, Sofia and Dr. Charles Michaels dive into the patient's past, the more they begin to believe that something "else" is in the Zoom call with them. Something that the creators of this podcast have refused to name out loud for the safety of its listeners...

After months of searching, the podcast finally tracks down "Willie Claws" to a mental health facility for the criminally insane in Trenton, NJ. The chance to speak with someone who many believe is possessed by an Evil Spirit is enticing, but securing an interview is nearly impossible due to confidentiality laws. In fact, the team's only chance may be to prove that Willie Claws is actually a man named William Haliday, who inexplicably massacred his wife and two children in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1979 -- immediately after visiting the infamous Black Magic Colony built by the late Barbara Farmer, just before she herself was murdered by husband Charles in 1963.

The team chases down the history and location of "Willie Claws" -- a homeless drifter who haunted No Man's Land for over two decades. According to multiple sources, Willie was a suspect in several unsolved murders in and around the woods, and recently arrested for illegally hunting with a crossbow. But what's really put us in hot pursuit are the rumors of his predilection for breaking his own fingers -- like so many others in NML lore -- and the possibility that he may be the first victim of possession by the Evil Spirit (who shall NOT be named) that we've encountered who's still alive...

In our first official crossover with another podcast, Marc, Will and John Hulme are joined by Kirsten Rogers Anderson and Will Rogers, hosts of "Guide To The Unknown." Specializing in deep dives into supernatural lore and classic horror movies, this brother and sister team approached us when one of their investigations led straight to the woods of "No Man's Land." Focusing on a series of unsolved murders in both Massachusetts and New Jersey, Will and Kristen slowly but surely reveal an uncomfortable possibility -- they all may be the work of the same man. A disturbed and damaged vagrant known only as "Willie Claws," who may be yet another victim of the Evil Spirit's possession. And most incredibly of all -- he may still be alive.

One of the most frightening aspects of No Man's Land lore is the idea that saying the Evil Spirit's true name opens up a doorway to possession. It's a story that's been repeated again and again during this investigation -- more of a warning, actually -- and the fact that this "unspeakable name" is written down in a book that the creators of this podcast have seen with their own eyes only adds to the anxiety. But when co-host Will Schwartz is strangely compelled to whisper the name aloud during an editing session, he can't shake the gnawing dread that his worst fears about No Man's Land are about to come true...

With all school activities on shutdown due to the Coronavirus, co-host Will Schwartz is forced to finish Episode 5 in the basement of his family's house. Fortunately, all interviews have already been recorded surrounding the most infamous of No Man's Land cases -- the strangling of 8 year old Seth Carter by his older brother Caleb in 1949. Dubbed "The Imaginary Friend Murder" by local newspapers, this tragic tale is told by relatives; an orderly at the insane asylum where Caleb Carter spent the rest of his life; and Professor Alex Saville -- the expert on No Man's Land lore that the team unexpectedly encountered on their field trip during Episode 4. But the terrors of the past become all to present when one of the co-hosts makes what may have been a terrible mistake...

Episode 4 sees the No Man's Land team venture out into the field to explore two locations crucial to this mysterious location's disturbing mythology. First, field reports Jomyra, Sandra and Alicia join documentarian John Hulme for a voyage under the Route 1 Bridge -- site of the infamous Flophead killings in 1985, which were explored in detail during Episodes 2 and 3. The girls not only sense feel strange eyes upon them, but also make a strange discovery that could be a breakthrough in terms of No Man's Land's evil roots... Meanwhile, Host Mark Ramrekha leads a second team deep into the woods of No Man's Land in hopes of locating the remains of the Flopheads' clubhouse. They interview several hikers along the way, several of whom are quite versed in the history of the place. But the investigation takes an unexpected turns when Ramrekha encounters someone who may know more than anyone involved in the project. The only question is, does he want to share that knowledge with a bunch of high school kids...

Episode Three centers around the only witnesses to the infamous killings under the Rt. I Bridge -- Dave Rock. The former Flophead (and current day low-budget horror filmmaker) has never spoken about what he saw that night, and doesn't want to talk about it now. But podcast hosts Marc Ramrekha and Will Schwartz call anyway, initiating a conversation that's equal parts funny, tragic and and scary as $#!+. The second installment focuses on a group of punk rock kids who called themselves "The Flopheads," and the terrible killings that took place under the Route 1 Bridge in Edison, NJ back in 1985. No one knows for sure who was responsible for what the police called "ritualistic murders," but rumor has it, the incident has its roots deep in No Man's Land...

The pilot episode of No Man's Land focuses on the infamous Murder at Merriewold Castle in 1963, when wealthy engineer Charles Farmer shot his wife Barbara to death for supposedly "practicing black magic and consorting with an evil spirit." Hosts Marc Ramrekha and Will Schwartz join documentary filmmaker John Hulme and a team of field reporters as they explore the secret passages and doorways where the murder took place, chase down the only surviving witness and bring a "straight talking Jersey medium" out to the scene of the crime to see if it is truly haunted...and by what.
