The Dark Side of My Obsession with Winning | #009

I’m very competitive. I always have been, and it troubles me because it sometimes leads me to act in a way that doesn’t align with what I know to be good for me. My competitive side can push me to overcommit in the short term and exhaust myself in the long term. It can also take me away from the joy I feel in doing things at my own pace and in my own way.

Training for a marathon is opening my eyes to this side of myself, and leading to a few realizations that I wanted to share with you.
