Season 3 finale! This week we wrap up season 3 by talking about how the Lord shapes us through the practice of reflection. In a world of hurry, reflection creates space for us to slow down enough to hear God, recognize His work in and around us, and walk in His ways more intentionally. At the end of the episode, we move through a guided reflection time together called the paschal cycle. The questions for each piece of that reflection are listed below. Shaped will return soon for season 4!
Good Friday-Name your losses. What have you lost this year?
Easter-Claim your births. What has God birthed in you this year? What is the new thing that God is doing in and through you?
40 days-Grieve the old and adjust to the new. Consider what you’ve lost. What are the hurts it has caused? Take some time to really feel all that you've lost without just trying to immediately move past it. Secondly, as a result of the deaths and births, how do you need to adjust to this new season?
Ascension-Let go of the old and carry its blessing with you. What are you taking with you from the past season into this next thing? How does what came before bless what’s ahead?
Pentecost-Receive the new life that God has given you right now. Don’t dwell on the life you wish you had but draw your attention to the beauty of what God is doing with you right now. What joys is He leading you into? What opportunities is He inviting you into?
