Richard Hogan impressed me with the work he did on the TV show "Raised by the village" because I am a believer that it actually does take a village to raise a child! So, I reached out to him and invited him on my podcast!Richard is a psychotherapist who specialises in working with families. He is from Cork and, following his English degree from University College Cork, he qualified as a secondary school teacher. His early classroom experiences prompted him to train as a psychotherapist. He has been in practice for a decade and is clinical director of the Therapy Institute in Dublin. Richard is the recipient of a Fulbright Award and is completing a PhD exploring the intersection between psychological models of the family and educational theory, with a particular focus on inclusion. He writes a weekly Irish Examiner column about the mental health issues of teenagers, couples and families and makes frequent TV and radio appearances, including as a regular contributor to Brendan O'Connor on RTÉ Radio 1 and as the series psychologist on the Virgin Media One show Eating with the Enemy. His first book was Parenting the Screenager and also has a bestselling book "Home is Where the Start is". Richard lives in Dublin with his family. Listen to this interesting conversation with Richard and I.
Meet Michelle! The stars aligned very quickly, and Michelle popped into my life at the exact right moment. This conversation is confirmation that we really are more similar than we are different even if it's in Ireland or New York! Michelle is helping women in the exact same way even though we are on different sides of the Atlantic! Watch us while we "do business" the right way! THIS is how real women, do real business. "On paper" we should be competition. But we know how energy really works. We are colleagues, confidants & collaborators who will raise each other up no matter what. That's how real women move through the world. Enjoy this very impromptu yet powerful podcast all the way from NYC!
After experiencing burnout in the rigid, male-dominated corporate world, Michelle embarked on a transformative journey across the waters, seeking to embody a more feminine, flowing energy, and return to her true self. Her experiences led to the creation of Matria, a transformative ecosystem designed to empower women to anchor in who they are, so they can flow and grow in their self-discovery journeys.
Michelle is a visionary coach who blends business acumen with an intuitive approach to self-discovery and empowerment. As a seasoned business strategist, community-builder, and passionate sailor, Michelle specializes in guiding women in corporate to find flow, and clarity, so they can build longevity in their career and in life.
Matria draws inspiration from the matriarch: a classic archetype representing the power and femininity of women. The name “Matria” invites women to embrace their full potential here and now, rather than waiting for their later decades to step into their true power.

In this episode Colm and I discuss how we met, perfectionism, bullying, business, failing, influencers & being brave!
Following A very satisfying career in hospitality, a highlight of which including a stint as General Manager of Bewley's Grafton St, Dublin, Colm O’Brien stepped out of the corporate world in 1998 to begin his journey to Business Ownership. With his wife, Aideen and their three (now adult) children, they upped sticks from life in Dublin and moved to Limerick in Ireland’s Midwest to take on a Bewley's Cafe Franchise there.
It all went very well - until a perfect economic storm caused that million-euro business to fail! However, from there they went on to co-found Carambola, a now €18 million school meals company employing more than 250 staff nationwide. He is also a Published Author, a Professional Speaker and Emcee, Podcaster, and Coach and has served voluntarily on the Boards of various charities.Born in 1963, he is excited about the future, having achieved Level 61 in The Game of Life in March 2024.Colm’s energy, enthusiasm, and general joie de vivre is infectious to all who meet him whether online or in-person.I am proud to be able to call Colm my friend who has been an anchor for me in many a storm. An rare chiveralous gentleman who is a pleasure to spend time with.Enjoy listening to his wisdom!

until life took an unexpected turn whilst in her 30's. Divine timing led her down a path of spirituality

meant she gave to others the love she deserved for herself.
Change was necessary.

behaviour and beliefs, is clear on her values and works on her personal goals, seeing adversity as an
opportunity to learn and grow.

Thank you all for the amazing feedback on last weeks first episode with Jamie Byrne. For two people who were very concerned about releasing it, we shouldn't have worried! All we ever want to do is positively impact just one person & we did that for sure because lots of you listened to it with your kids and I am told it was very helpful to them. Thank you all so much for your care & support!
Jamie Byrne is a student of Business and Irish (through the Irish language!), proudly plays Gaelic football for Oliver Plunketts. He is a fantastic cook, a wonderful brother, friend and son.
NOTE: We apologise for the noise interference. We couldn’t use the popper mics on our first day of recording as there were technical challenges. We didn't realise that the clip on mics were buzzing off each other till post production! So Irish though that the whole reason for getting a studio was to improve sound quality! You live and you learn.
Welcome to my new podcast in my new studio! Well this podcast was very emotional for me for lots of reasons as it’s with my one and only son, Jamie Byrne. I was so surprised when he asked to be on my podcast because he is normally so private! But the reasons why he wanted to come on, transpire as we talk. I learned some hard home truths and things about my own son that I wasn’t aware of. There are so many lessons in this episode for all of us. Jamie is so emotionally intelligent, I am honored to be his Mam. He is one of my biggest teachers & I am blessed to have him in my life. Thank you for doing this Jamie and thank you for being true to you.
