This 16th episode is the start of the series on the theme of promoting our wellbeing by being physically active outdoor.
The WHO constitution states: "Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." Mental health is a state of wellbeing in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.
In this 16th episode, we kick off this topic by talking with Beth Pascall. It was recorded from an online meeting on the 14th of December 2021. She shared how she thinks about the relationship between being physically active and having healthy well-being, and how she deals and cope with her recent injury. She also spoke about her love of being outdoors with nature and how it makes her more productive in her daily tasks. Aside from promoting wellbeing, we also talked about how the sport has grown and the involvement of people within the ultra-trail scene, the experience in it, and how we actually take care of each other and ourselves and be graceful of any outcomes from an ultra trail race. She also shared her tips for being safe in the outdoors by navigating ourselves and how she plans her daily agenda as a paediatrician and a pro ultra trail runner athlete, as well as by staying connected with family and friends.
