The COVID-19 pandemic leads to new alliances between the for-profit and non-profit sectors: To meet the needs of growing food insecurity in the U.S., Lyft and Mastercard announced to deliver one million healthy meals. Especially targeted are low-income families and seniors in communities of color.

Violence against humanitarian workers has never been higher
2019 attacks against aid workers surpassed all previous years, the United Nations declared. According to the aid worker database, a total of 483 of aid workers were victims of violent attacks, 125 among them lost their lives. This represents an 18 percent increase in casualties compared to the previous year.
