A safe space for new and veteran teachers to learn from my mistakes as an educator.
When working with new administrators, remember these three things: #1 Administrators are not your friend. Many administrators are friendly, but it’s important to remember not to blur the lines of professionalism. Therefore, administrators are the coaches and we are the players. #2 Earn administrative support by following your procedures and protocols within our classroom with fidelity. By doing this, we eliminate the pressure of administration, having to do our job and their job. & #3 stay in your lane. It is important as a new teacher to learn how to handle situations in the building before volunteering your time because you should be mindful of stepping on your administrators toes.
This week’s episode is sponsored by Willow Beane the author of “Take Back Your Life: From Fear to Freedom”. In this self help book I teach you how to overcome excuses and accomplish you short and long term goals.
