Paul Roberts is an internationally accomplished vocalist, musician and actor, whose extensive 35 year career has allowed him to perform across all mediums…Theatre, Recording, Concert, Film, TV and Radio worldwide.

He is probably best known for fronting the iconic major British band, The Stranglers,  for 16 years, from 1990 – 2006. This period saw the band release 6 albums and several singles including a [re-recording of] Peaches, Heaven or Hell, Golden Boy and Big Thing Coming.

Since 1999, apart from his input to the band, he has written, recorded, produced, and [with his band Soulsec], toured 5 solo albums in Europe and the US.

Studio albums to date include: Faith? - Self Discovery - The Pressure Sensitive - End Games - 5,4 Now…. He left the Stranglers in May 2006 after their biggest Billboard top 40 singles chart hit, in and since that period, Big Thing Coming. The band had also received huge acclaim with the release of the [2004] album Norfolk Coast. Paul’s 16 years with the band, according to his former colleagues, was actually longer than that of predecessor, Hugh Cornwell.

Following his departure he played a special ‘thank you to the fans’ show, selling out London’s 100 Club, billed as ‘Black In Town’, featuring many songs that he wrote/co-wrote during his tenure. Alongside were one time Stranglers guitarist John Ellis and long term members of Paul’s band, bassist Brad Waissman [Joff Wink’s band] and Waterboy’s pianist Richard Naiff.

Shortly after this, he recorded his 5th album, the aptly titled Endgames. Most of the material featured on this album was created from original ideas he penned for Suite XVI (the follow up to Norfolk Coast), an album Paul recorded, but subsequently never appeared on. Paul’s cover of Bowie’s Lady Grinning Soul for the album Faith? was described on BOWIENET as, “…beautiful…” and Bowie's fans were urged to go and see Soulsec. Flattery indeed.

Alongside his own work, he has recorded, written and appeared on over 30 albums and singles with artists including The Lightning Seeds, OMD, Terry Hall, Arthur Brown, Chris ‘Judge’ Smith, Nick Graham [The Flame-Cheap Trick] and Neil Taylor. His work has been recorded with some of the best names in music including Martin Phipps, Alan Winstanley, Peter Hamill, Cenzo Townshend, Nicky Graham [not Nick Graham], Pete Glenister and Nigel Kennedy [who asked to play on a song Paul had written for the Strangler’s album About Time].

This autumn he will release a new record under his own name, entitled, 20 - 22. Described as, ‘a view of the new world’.
