'Still a Mum' - Meagan Donaldson on losing (and always remembering) baby Violet.

"Deciding, based on an awful diagnoses, whether to continue with a pregnancy and bring a baby into the world to suffer, or not to continue with your pregnancy doesn't feel like a choice, It feels like the worst decision you will ever have to make."

At a routine scan during her first pregnancy, Meagan and her partner experienced what we all fear most in that moment. All was not well, and they would need to come back to see a doctor. What transpired over coming days and weeks was the reality that their baby daughter Violet had serious health problems and would not live long. They were then faced with a decision that no parent should ever have to make, and one they wished they never had to.

Meagan wrote her and Violet's story in her book 'Still a Mum'. It moved me immensely and I'm so grateful that she shared her story with me in this podcast. While at times this is an emotional listen - it's also a story that's full of hope and joy as Meagan lovingly remembers her daughter, and lives in a way that ensures her baby girl is never forgotten.

As mentioned this episode discusses infant loss.
