It’s fair to say Gered Mankowitz is a legendary music photographer, responsible for some truly iconic images. He started out in the early 60s and worked through until the early 2000s, working in the music industry and also in the world of advertising. He set up his first studio when he was 17, and is particularly well known for his images of The Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix from this time, but his photography helped to define many bands and artists throughout his career. Oh, and it was Peter Sellers who first introduced him to photography! A great conversation with a great photographer, I hope you enjoy.
