By the age of twenty-three, Jay Shifman had a life-threatening opioid addiction, twice been hospitalized for an overdose, twice attempted suicide, and spent a significant amount of time in an inpatient hospital and a rehab facility.
Clearly that rehab facility didn't do the trick.
But, today, Jay is a husband, the host of the Choose Your Struggle Podcast, a public speaker, and an advocate for Mental Health and Substance Misuse and Recovery. You hear me correctly. Substance Misuse. See, Jay believes that there is a huge different between Substance Abuse, Substance Misuse, and life-destroying addiction.
