Hello! 🧠🎧
In today’s interview we had a pleasure to talk with Professor Valery Grinevich: head of the Department of Neuropeptide Research in Psychiatry at the Central Institute of Mental Health in Mannheim and a professor at Heidelberg University. Professor Grinevich takes us on a trip of discovery of one of our most ancient neurohormones: oxytocin. Not only do we learn of its numerous physiological functions, but – perhaps even more importantly – of its promising therapeutical uses. Together we find out:
👪 How a certain nonapeptide provides us with the ability to form stable family bonds
😌 What disorders can be mitigated by a timely upregulation of oxytocin
🥳 Where to seek biological foundations of gregariousness…
…and many more. Tune in for the whole story!
This is the next episode prepared in the cooperation with Neuronus Neuroscience Forum - the biggest neuroscience conference in Poland held in Krakow biannually.
