Luke Cage (Mike Colter) is back in Harlem defending the streets from crime, but he’s angry and frustrated. Not only are the drug pushers using his name to sell their gear but every time he shuts down a corner another pops up to take its place. Away from the street Luke settles back in with Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) but Luke is resistant to her involvement in his investigations and the idea that he could earn a living from his crime fighting. Meanwhile at Harlem’s Paradise the crime families of Harlem come together at the invitation of Mariah Dillard (Alfre Woodard) as she, and her new beau Shades Alvarez (Theo Rossi), attempt to convince them to invest in a venture that will clean her money and get her out of crime for good. However, as they make their plans so too does a new arrival in Harlem as Bushmaster (Mustafa Shakir) comes to sweep away the old guard and he has his sights set on Brooklyn, then Harlem and the new head of the Stokes family, Mariah Dillard.
