The Nerd Skool Podcast, part of the Queen City Podcast Network, began when nerd-curious Joe Hunsaker of “History for Jerks” realized that he knew more experienced nerds in his life beyond simply his former entertainment writer brother Andy. After witnessing many spirited debates between his co-workers – the Sith-identifying Arthur “ArtStar” Lovely and the “Secret Nerd” Tiffany Bryant-Jackson - he decided he wanted to learn how to become a nerd himself. The three convened the Nerd Skool to educate Joe on nerd culture and nerd media, as well as the benefits of “actually paying attention to movies.” They are soon to begin a course on Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A Long Time Ago, In A Podcast Far Far Away
Episode 113: A Long Time Ago, In A Podcast Far Far Away Professor Andy, Artstar and Joe are joined by a new pupil, Carrington, who “knows nothing about” Star Wars, but loves anime and is a cosplayer. The group shared their experiences and perceptions of the Star Wars franchise, including discussions about representation and diversity, particularly with regards to the representation of black characters in the franchise. They also discussed their personal views on the franchise. Carrington explained that while her father introduced her to many things, including Star Wars, she never got into it as she found it old and not as appealing as other genres. Carrington and Artstar engage in a discussion about their appreciation for the anime series, One Piece, the appeal of anime in general, attributing it to the genre's advanced storytelling and unique cultural influences. The old nerds discuss their fond childhood memories of Star Wars and their respective nerdy credentials. They shared their experiences of introducing new audiences to the Star Wars universe and debated on the best ways to do so. They touch on the depth and complexity of the Star Wars universe, discussing the evolution of canon and the rich mythology it has created.
