Imposter Syndrome - Your Success Comes from God - 2 Corinthians 3:4-5

Last week, we talked about humility and anxiety, which sort of ties in perfectly with our topic and passage this week. What has to do with imposter syndrome? So let me ask you, have you ever felt like you were invited somewhere you didn't belong? Have you worried that you got a job, promotion, or some position because someone overestimated your abilities?

You may suffer from imposter syndrome if you've ever felt this way. , according to dictionary. com, this is the anxiety or self-doubt that results from persistently undervaluing one's competence and your active role in achieving success while falsely attributing one's accomplishments to luck or external forces. Essentially, it's this fear you don't belong, and eventually, people are going to find out the truth. Being a nerd of the word has taught me a few things about how to deal with imposter syndrome.

Focus Passage:

2 Corinthians 3:4-5 NLT

We are confident of all this because of our great trust in God through Christ. It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God.

Main Takeaways

- Imposter Syndrome keeps us focused on our inadequacy rather than God's competency

- Our competency and qualification come from God, as does our success

- When we focus on glorifying God through our success, we can show up humble and authentic in every circumstance. This is a sure-fire imposter syndrome KO (Knock Out). Prayer

Lord,

Remind us when we feel like we aren’t good enough, worthy enough, or deserving of promotion that you are the reason we are blessed. Help us point to your glory in all circumstances and know that you have promised to uphold us even when we doubt ourselves.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
