Man & Money by Ashok Andrew's
_The *DUG* Series # 257_ _*Men & Money*_ (Exodus 35- 36) For our Meditation today we want to consider the same passage of Scripture that we looked at yesterday. I am sure you remember our theme! _*Stop Bringing your Offerings*_ 😊 Take a moment to ponder the text as I read it for you- _They received from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought to carry out the work of constructing the sanctuary. And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning. So all the skilled workers who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left what they were doing and said to Moses, β€˜The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the LORD commanded to be done.’ Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: β€˜No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.’ And so the people were restrained from bringing more, because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work._ Exodus 36:3‭-‬7 Yesterday we looked at this section from the perspective of the Giver. Today we will consider it from the perspective of the Receivers. What kind of *Receivers* were these Servants of GOD? 1) _*HONEST*_- Here are a few important lessons we can learn from these Servants of GOD- βœ“ They carefully accounted for all that Moses gave them βœ“ They used the money wisely & judiciously βœ“ They were constantly monitoring the fund position βœ“ They told Moses to ask the people of GOD to stop giving. 2) _Not *HOARDERS*_- One very important lesson from this text is that the Leaders did not *HOARD* the offerings of GOD'S people. They could have easily said- Let the people keep on giving & we can grow our balances! Who knows we may need the money in the future! 3) _*HONOUR*_- I find that these Servants of GOD *HONOURED* GOD in the way they diligently used the money from the people of GOD just for the fulfillment of the purposes of GOD. Funds given for a Purpose- Used for that Purpose. βœ“ GOD'S Word was *Fulfilled* βœ“ The Leaders laboured *Faithfully* with GOD'S resources βœ“ People's giving resulted in great *Fruitfulness* As we begin our day let us allow the HOLY SPIRIT to search our lives! What kind of Receivers are we? My prayer is that we would be 1) _*HONEST*_- 2) _*HOARDERS*_ (not) 3) _*HONOUR*_ God Have a great day!
