Captive insurance refers to an insurance company that is wholly owned and controlled by its insureds; its primary purpose is to ensure the risks of its owners, and its insureds benefit from the captive insurer's underwriting profits. Fast forward to today, the NCRMA has now endorsed captive insurance companies. NCRMA has recently trademarked NCRMACADEMY which is the name of the new educational and training arm of the National Cannabis Risk Management Association.
