Are we a cardboard cutout with regard to our faith or are we present and real? Jacob wrestled with God until he knew that he had been blessed by God (Genesis 32). On Remembrance Sunday we want to remember those people who have given their lives so that we might live fairly peacefully today, but we shouldn't aim to only have a faith where we remember the good days from the past. The Bible: a treasure for all
In this Talk, we are reminded how indispensable the Bible is in our lives today. People like John Wycliffe and William Tyndale gave their lives to make it easily accessible and understandable for us in the 21st century. However, there are still large numbers of people around the world who do not have a Bible in a language that they understand. The immense work to make this treasure available to everyone in an understandable way continues. You can read the script for the whole Service here.
