The Nukak are one of at least 32 tribes in Colombia believed to be at ‘imminent risk of extinction’. This is due to multiple reasons that include the ongoing civil war in Colombia and the continued influence of the modern world. Some of these influences from the modern world have led some of the Nukak people to begin taking modern drugs and drinking alcohol.
