Over the past 23 months, our lives have changed dramatically, particular in the workplace. Many of us went from spending five days a week in an office, running from airport to airport, or meeting to meeting, to a completely remote environment juggling both our personal and professional lives from a dining room table. With women, in particular women of color, disproportionately impacted during the pandemic (more than 5mm women have exited the workforce since February 2020), what does a “return to the office” look like for you? What are the range of emotions and feelings about going back to work? Has your company addressed various situations of home-based, on-site or hybrid? Or put in place a timeline or new policies? What questions should you be asking? Is flexibility a concern, or lack of it? What changes can I make in how I manage that will support the diverse needs of my teams? Are we ready?
