Today we’re diving deep into the transformative world of hypnotherapy with our distinguished guest, Gary Johannes. Gary, a solution-focused hypnotherapist from Peterborough, doesn’t just work with clients; he actively shapes the future of hypnotherapy through his leadership at multiple training schools across the UK.
Today, he’ll share insights from his extensive experience helping individuals combat mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD through innovative, forward-looking techniques that harness the power of neuroscience and brain plasticity.
Gary's approach is unique as it involves educating clients about their minds and providing tools that empower them to take control of their lives without dwelling on the past.
This episode will also touch on men's mental health and the crucial role of creating supportive environments that encourage open conversations.
We’ll discuss not only the challenges men face in expressing vulnerability but also explore how societal pressures can influence mental wellness.
Lastly, Gary will share his personal journey into hypnotherapy, highlighting his transition from skepticism to advocacy, his ongoing research projects, and the importance of proper training and accreditation in the hypnotherapy field.
Whether you’re a professional in the mental health sector or someone curious about the benefits of hypnotherapy, this episode is packed with valuable insights.

I became a solution-focused hypnotherapist in 2011. Since then I have trained in neuroscience. Today, as well as a practising hypnotherapist, I am also a hypnotherapy supervisor, lecturer and mental health first aider.
Growing up in a very big family from a very poor part of South London where you had to fight to achieve anything, I’ve seen and experienced many things in life. I joined the RAF and then worked in a number of industries until I took the option of running my own business.
Over the last 25 years, I have had the experience of running a number of businesses and losing them too. I trained to become a solution-focused hypnotherapist in 2011. Since then, I have continued to develop my skills and responsibilities.
My life experiences drive me to continue supporting people from all sorts of backgrounds to become the best versions of themselves.
