What does it take to thrive as an Artist in Africa?
Nino Sekeleni is a graphic designer for Africa's biggest football publication, Soccer Laduma as well as my childhood friend. He obtained his degree from the prestigious AFDA College which is the only school of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance within Africa.
After obtaining his Honours degree in Motion Picture & Television Production, he went through the struggle that most artists in Africa need to go through: "What do I do with my skill?", in a continent that does not offer opportunities for creative talent.
Our discussion is aimed to inspire the creatives in this world, to pursue their dreams, in a smart way that generates income.
Nino is also the founder of The Local Boys ZA, a platform that supports other creatives showcase their talent through various mediums. The platform currently supports his passion for football and media production and will eventually offer mentorship and guidance for upcoming artists within South-Africa as an independent production house.
