VIDEO: Friday Night Fights - The Fly (1958 vs. 1986)

Our latest podcast venture, we're trying out a new series called Friday Nights Fights, where we compare two movies (an an original and a remake) to decide which movie comes out on top! In this episode, we compare The Fly 1958 vs. 1986. Who will come out ahead in the battle of the movies.

"The Fly" is a classic science fiction story that has terrified audiences for decades. Originally released in 1958, the first iteration of "The Fly" delves into the perils of scientific experimentation gone awry. Fast forward to 1986, and we're introduced to a reimagined version of "The Fly" directed by David Cronenberg. This iteration takes the concept of transformation to a whole new level, plunging us into a visceral and grotesque journey of body horror. But which movie does it better?

We both vote separately using the following categories to find out which movie does best at:

  1. Building suspense
  2. Creating well developed characters
  3. Not show the monster right away
  4. Having the best dialogue
  5. Having a great antagonist
  6. Giving the best creepy sound design/effects/music

Voting is based on our opinions only, but it's all in great fun. Join us for this new take on scary movie reviews.
