Welcome to My therapist said, a podcast all about normalizing mental health issues and going to psychotherapy. We are Lola & Carla, psychotherapists in training and therefore professional overthinkers.
Every week we bring a psychological topic to the table which we explain, interpret and then elaborate on through the things we learn during our studies, our personal life as well as our own therapy. Get ready to over-analyze!

This week we went all philosophical on you, and discussed two Greek gods: Apollo and Dionysus ๐ผ๐ป. How is that relevant to psychotherapy and mental health? Our old friend and philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche made Apollo and Dionysus symbols for the Apollonian and the Dionysian; one representing things like order and rationality, and the other representing things like chaos and intuition. ๐ฅ ๐
These two characters are living within us all (creepy right?!) and go right along with the theories of major psychoanalytic thinkers such as Freud and Lacan ๐ฎ๐คฏ
Are you an Apollonian or Dionysian?! Or are you just balanced AF and are both equally? ๐
