My Defining Moments
Episode 26: Lindsey Jacobellis, Snowboarding
At the 2006 Winter Olympics, a 20-year-old American snowboarder by the name of Lindsey Jacobellis became a household name. Not for winning a gold medal, but for "losing" one. With a clear lead in the inaugural Snowboard Cross event, Lindsey attempted a grab coming off the final roller. She fell, watched the gold medal disappear and got up for silver. 16 years later, at her fifth Olympic Games, Lindsey finally took her place on the top step of the Olympic podium. Winning Team USA's first gold medal of the Games, it was the fairy-tale story of the Games. Backed up by a second gold medal in the mixed team event a few days later. Whilst discussing her five defining moments, Lindsey talks through how she dealt with the pain of Torino and joy of Beijing. Plus a whole lot of ups and downs in between! So wrap up warm and listen to Lindsey Jacobellis on My Defining Moments. Thanks for listening! @chrisbrownsport
