The hell with that, I'll do it on my own
In the beginning he was diagnosed as clinically depressed. After 6 years of meds and therapy that didn't help, his psychiatrist changed his diagnosis to bipolar disorder. This was the start of his journey into his acceptance of his condition. Previously he had been raped when he was 9, and attempted to kill his father at age 21. Luckily, before he could harm him, he came to his senses and drove to a mental health facility near his home. He was there for 3 weeks. HeI had suicidal thoughts previous to my hospitalization, but since then, none. The following years consisted of up and down days which lasted anywhere from a week to a month. Finally, in 2000 he received the first med that helped. Since then he have added 3 more psych meds which created my "cocktail" that got him 90% better. Today he facilitate 3 mental health support groups in Phoenix. He has very few symptoms due to trauma therapy, etc. Since 2023,He has been a guest on 40+ podcasts. He is doing great following a long, rigorous ride. His website https://authorstevewwilson.com
