On February 9, 2023 Crystal McCrory Jones was found in her bed at her home in Oak Grove, Louisiana with a fatal gunshot wound to her head. A pillow left lying over her face and the gun resting in the palm of her hand. In less than two hours, after a hasty, half-hearted crime scene investigation, the West Carroll Parish Sheriff's Department had ruled Crystal’s death a suicide. In the weeks that followed, the family was left with more questions than answers and nothing about how the case was being handled was adding up.
