This podcast is hosted by Darwin mums and journalists Molly Upstill and Kathleen Gazzola. Welcome to our little podcast where we, as fairly new mums, are having a casual chat about life in Australia's tropical north, raising our family and the challenges and joys of motherhood. We also sit down with with some well-known and some not as widely known women who call the Territory home. We talk about all things NT, their mum journey and why they’re raising their family in the Northern Territory. This podcast is recorded on Larrakia country. Music thanks to Alan Withers.

Jess Herraman on finding a hole in your heart, the life of flight attendants in Dubai, and the dream of a perfect Christmas tree.

Jess Herraman was excited to spread her wings after school finished, but like so many Territory kids - there’s simply no place like home.

A mum of three girls, a former flight attendant who travelled the world, and now a successful businesswoman, Jess sits down with us to discuss how the picture motherhood in your head usually doesn’t often live up to reality, especially when it comes to the Christmas tree.

She also shares the impact of recently losing her dad, and how the major goal of completing an Olympic length triathlon in the months after he passed kept her grounded, and helped keep the pieces together when grief threatened to swallow her whole.

And this is all while also recovering from major heart surgery.
