Synopsis

Want to know more about diversity and its function? Sara Ahmed writes about diversity in a way that is compelling and informative. By interviewing diversity practitioners in higher education, she explains why diversity work is hard and there is constant resistance to doing diversity work.  What happens when diversity is offered as a solution to racism in higher education?

________________

Let's talk about DEI! As a Black leader working in a diversity, equity, and inclusion role in higher education I find myself in a consistent posture of pushing up against the walls of status quo and structural whiteness. Utilizing the works found in this book further assists leaders like me in understanding the ways institutional policies and practices continue marginalization. This book is a resource, and since DEI has taken on a new energy, I think it is important to share some resources with you that I find to be informative and illuminating.
