When A Baby Is Born, So Too Is A Mother With Nikki McCahon

There’s not much that can really prepare us for motherhood, as we stumble around trying to find our feet all while we are faced with this newly formed, raw and vulnerable version of ourselves. Today we invited Nikki McCahon, a Matrescence Educator and women’s life cycle guide to hold space for you, our listeners, who may be on this journey or about to embark these woods.

If you haven’t heard of Matrescence, you are probably not alone. Matrescence captures the physical, psychological, emotional and social changes that a mother encounters as she transitions into motherhood. Nikki so beautifully articulates and validates our feelings, thoughts and fears as mothers and provides insight into ways to help nurture yourself as you blossom from woman to mother.

Things We Mention -

  • The most common reasons women reach out to Nikki.
  • Sensory overload and why we feel it
  • Postpartum rage/anger
  • Milestones and closing chapters in motherhood

PLUS we hear Nikki share a personal experience on ‘breaking the cycle’ when it comes to parenting.
