This is the podcast for the Australian Historic Road and Racing community covering grass roots events and racing!

There is a thriving community of owners of classic and historic vehicles - including veteran and vintage cars. There is also a strong racing community through various clubs and associations. This podcast will showcase and highlight the amazing people, vehicles and events in Australia.

I'm Stephen Wells, I've been involved in this community for decades (!) through clubs in Australia and the UK. I am an alumni of the Jim Russell Racing Drivers School at Snetterton Circuit in the UK and have organised major events and club runs over the years including being President or Vice President of many.

Motoring Weekly has been delivering content since 2008 either as a podcast or long-form articles. It took a hiatus in 2020 and is now back to support a great community.

Listen to interviews with:

  • Club racers,
  • Car owners,
  • Concours judges,
  • Club members,
  • Event organisers,
  • Restoration specialists and engineers.

Ep 177 AMHF Dr Andrew Moore

Episode 177 Australian Motor Heritage Foundation - Dr Andrew Moore.

In continuing our spotlight on the Australian Motor Heritage Foundation, I spoke with Dr Andrew Moore, a historian who has been reviewing and managing the Graham Howard Collection. Graham Howard was a journalist and historian focused on Australian motor sport and left a sizeable collection of files, reports and documents from his time as a writer.

Dr Moore talks about his early life at the Warwick Farm circuit acting as a Marshall and official. He later wrote an amazing book about the circuit and the races that were held there. He also talks about the size and depth of the Collection he has been working on.
