This is the podcast for the Australian Historic Road and Racing community covering grass roots events and racing!
There is a thriving community of owners of classic and historic vehicles - including veteran and vintage cars. There is also a strong racing community through various clubs and associations. This podcast will showcase and highlight the amazing people, vehicles and events in Australia.
I'm Stephen Wells, I've been involved in this community for decades (!) through clubs in Australia and the UK. I am an alumni of the Jim Russell Racing Drivers School at Snetterton Circuit in the UK and have organised major events and club runs over the years including being President or Vice President of many.
Motoring Weekly has been delivering content since 2008 either as a podcast or long-form articles. It took a hiatus in 2020 and is now back to support a great community.

Episode 175 AMHF - Colin Piper.
In continuing our spotlight on the Australian Motor Heritage Foundation, I talk with Colin Piper about his work in curating the Brian Lear Collection.
Colin Piper has been a motorsport enthusiast all his life. An accomplished musician who played with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Colin's first taste of racing was at the old Warwick Farm circuit and did some Formula Vee racing in the day. Colin is also a member of the HSRCA and enjoys their race meetings.
Brian Lear, who created the collection over many decades, was well known in hillclimb and historic racing circles racing Elfins and Coopers. He donated his collection several years ago and in this podcast we find out how far Colin has got in working through 47 folders of media events. Brian's passion was to find all the newspaper articles of events - going back as far as 1905!
