Sylvia Feliciano of Solace Mind with Shomari Jones and Jarrell Marshall
Sylvia Feliciano of Solace Mind hosts this edition of the Mother's Justice Show and welcomes Shomari Jones and Jarrell Marshall to the show. Ine the first half of the show Sylvia is joined by Shomari Jones to ask "Brother, How Are You Really?" Shomari Jones is a nationally recognized equity strategist and community advocate with over two decades of experience leading systems change in education, nonprofit, and public sectors. As Principal Lead of The Bridge Consultancy, he helps organizations move beyond performative equity work to create sustainable, justice-driven impact. A former Director of Equity and Strategic Engagement for the Bellevue School District, Shomari has also held leadership roles at the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle, the YMCA, and the College Success Foundation. He is a proud graduate of Tuskegee University and Leadership Tomorrow (Seattle), and was honored by Education Week as a “Leader to Learn From.” Then in the second half Jarrell Marshall joins the conversation to talk "Reentry & Mental Health." Jarrelle is the Executive Director of RECLAIM which is a nonprofit that exists at the intersection of reentry and mental health. As the grandson and son of people directly impacted and traumatized by the criminal legal system, Jarrelle is someone who understands that there is more to an individual's worth and value than their experiences with trauma and the institutions that cause further trauma. Not only is Jarrelle on his own journey of healing, feeling and reintegration, he is committed to utilizing his access to resources to forge and cultivate the relationships necessary to ensure that the community members who RECLAIM serves have access to the resources they need to be supported, to be held, and to flourish.
